We always say, “it’s all about the animals,” and no matter their size, we’ll try our best to help. Well, we’ve gone HUGE again and decided to sponsor ANOTHER elephant!
After hearing about the struggles these magnificent creatures face, we are proud to continue to work alongside Gentle Giants.
We have adopted/sponsored Wan Mai this year. Baby Wan Mai, whose name means New Day or new beginning, was born on May 2nd, 2020. Life for her and her family was sad and full of hardship. She was rescued on June 7th, 2020, along with her mother, Mae Mai, from a future that was very cruel and bleak.
At the very tender age of just five weeks, Wan Mai was saved from a riding camp where tourists paid to ride on these magnificent creatures’ backs! Appalling, right?
Historically, the mahouts who dedicate their lives to helping these wonderful animals don’t have it easy either; they work long hours for very little pay. Just after Covid, an opportunity presented itself: the new non-profit Gentle Giants was born, partnering with Save Elephant Foundation (founded by Lek Saengduean Chailert).

Your sponsorship will give them the opportunity to stay within the forest, roaming free among their own, for just $50.00 (approx. £34.00) a year, or more if you wish to. Each elephant has its own story and personality. Your sponsorship will go towards food, care, medical treatment, and their mahout’s wages. You’ll also get a Sponsorship Certificate, a photo of your sponsored elephant, and a “Gentle Giants personalised sponsorship badge,” which you may use as your social media profile picture.
Additionally, your sponsorship will help keep these Gentle Giants in the forest and their natural habitat. They will now be able to enjoy their lives as elephants, roaming free with their herd (their family). Their days of long hours walking under the scorching heat with tourists on their backs will be left behind. No chains will hold their feet, no bull hooks will be used. Not only are you benefiting these beautiful Gentle Giants, but you are also helping the community that coexists with them to thrive.
