Well, we were motoring along nicely in fourth gear doing our best to get every homecheck, transport run and assessment booked – all was going according to plan and cruising along and hoping to move up to fifth gear. Then we had to drop to third when individual areas were put in lockdown; then down to second when even more announced – sadly now we are just crawling along in first as lockdowns are being introduced in so many more areas, along with the recent restrictions of only six people can meet inside or outside.
Just hoping we don’t end up having to switch the engine off totally again. The outlook isn’t great!
BUT we are always optimistic that we are doing everything we can to try and maintain our services in whatever way we can. We know it’s been difficult for many of our volunteers and rescues, I totally understand the 900+ members we have now on unavailable but this is causing our admins even more work as we try to cover in certain areas. So, if you are one of our members who can re-start please let us know.
We however have been busy as always in the background and have made the decision to change one of our group names from Rescue Register to Resources – please read the announcement in Services, explaining our thinking. Makes much more sense as it’s never been a register lol.
Also, we’ve adopted an elephant – yes you read it right – an elephant – read the story. This is something we have thought about in the past but have now found the right organisation to work alongside.
It’s still been busy though and since the last news article for August we have posted to this morning: 1399 homechecks, done 72 transport runs, 39 assessments, secured 4 foster placements and promoted over 115 animals on our Resources group. Along with continuing to increase our social media coverage on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Any updates needed are posted on our group Facebook pages as soon as we possibly can to try and keep everyone informed as to what’s happening. Thank you again for visiting our website and take care out there, keep safe.
Here’s hoping we can start to step-up a gear again really, really soon!
